Joshua’s title defence against Pulev no longer June, new date in the works

The boxing challenge between British heavyweight Anthony Joshua and Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev is the most recent survivor of the coronavirus pandemic attacking the world.

Joshua was charged to shield his IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO world titles against Pulev on June 20 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, however the battle has been delayed.

An announcement from Joshua’s advertiser Matchroom Boxing said another date for the battle “was being dealt with”.

Matchroom included it was “proceeding to investigate the chance” of facilitating the session at a similar scene at a later date.30-year-old Joshua has not battled since December, when he increased a consistent focuses triumph over Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia to recapture his belts in the wake of losing to the American-Mexican in New York last June.

38-year-old Pulev is the obligatory challenger to Joshua’s IBF belt.
