The Federal Government has said that directing mass testing for Coronavirus in Nigeria would not be practical presently given the country’s more than 200 million populace.

Priest of Health, Osagie Ehanire, unveiled this while handling inquiries from newsmen after the appearance of the Chinese specialists and some hardware in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said that the legislature was fairly proceeding with its focused on testing for the individuals who had been abroad or the individuals who may have interacted with any positive case.

“We have 200 million residents and mass testing isn’t something that I believe is truly achievable now, we are doing focused on testing.

“We are focusing on the individuals who are probably going to have been influenced, so we are taking a gander at territories and people who meet certain criteria that we set.

“Criteria of having been abroad, having been in contact with people who have been abroad or have been in a group of spots where we have a ton of positives.

“Despite the fact that it is going into optional we are doing what is called shrewd testing so as to distinguish the cases that are giving us concern,” he said.

He said investigates were continuous in numerous nations and that legislature would depend on science and counsel from WHO to beat the pandemic.
